Traveling to Ende was not fun for me at all, it was long way from Ruteng which was my home town, the most disturbing thing was having a car sick all the way there. I choose to drive in the evening to avoid busy road and avoiding sickness feeling but it wasn’t help at all
I went with my brothers and sister in low,my brothers are ok,none of them having a car sick I have no idea why.
Ende is a largest town in Flores and is deemed to be the most important with its harbor serving other destinations around the archipelago, its quiet hot weather there, very different with my home town. the plan to arrived on time while sunrise at Keli Mutu lake wasn’t happen at all because we have to stop few times for a quick rest. I arrived there around 5.30 am, we then stay at my Cousin’s house for a day rest. after few hours sleep I tried to visit some places around the city and in the afternoon we drove to Moni village to stay over night before hike to Keli Mutu Lake.
Kelimutu Lake
We Stayed at a very nice little hotel, not busy that day, only few Tourists around, we walk around the Village to see some nice places for Dinner ,enjoy talking to all the people around, having some beers, chit chat before we went to bed.
Early morning at 4 am we drove up to keli Mutu lake, we meet some people who stared walking from their hotel to the crater lake, it was so cold that morning and its take 30 minutes or more to drive before we had to hike up 1-2 km to get in to the summit.
Keli Mutu volcano is located in central Flores, Indonesia. three crater lakes are located on the eastern summit of Keli Mutu. Each of the lakes has a distinctive physical structure and very unique.(Wikipedia)
Up in the lake was very cold !!! I bet it was around 6 degree Celsius, fog come and go, well my brothers not used to that cold they just wanna run back home
Black Lake
I Tried to take some pictures ,my hands were so cold, I cant even push the shutter lol. after 30 minutes there the lake getting very busy, a lot of Tourists arrived. but its a pity when the sun rise the lake disappear cover by fog, i started to feel a little worry about the weather, The picture on top as you can see the 2 green lake together next to each other, and the image below was the black Lake, its behind where I stand when I viewing the 2 green lakes. each of this lake have their own name, which was Tiwu Ata Polo the “enchanted lake”, Tiwu Nua Muri Koohi Fah the “lake of young men and maidens”, Tiwu Ata Mbupu the “lake of elders”, is the western-most lake. there was some legend story about this lakes when I was young you all can probably read in internet about it .

- Kelimutu Lake
anyway I waited long time to make more pictures but look like I cant see the lake anymore so we decided to leave.
This was the last clear view of the lake I could capture. we drove back and stopped at Moni Village for breakfast and visiting some traditional market.

- Lady at the Market
Sweet and lovely people, full of happines and smile they offer me some fruit while I took their pictures.
I spent some times in the market that morning just to talk to people who working. getting some information where all the vegetables come from, according to the lady on the picture most of the local people there selling fresh vegetables, fruits, rice from their own gardens.

busy at the market
after the market we continue our trip back to Ende city , had a few stopped for some landscapes. taking some pictures of the rice field. and we back to the Ende city.
Had a nice Lunch with some of my family members who live there and they were able to meet me,then we prepared to drive back home to see my little girl

Rice Field
On the way back to Ruteng regency I was ok, I did not having car sick at all
which was a good news. I still make a few stops on the way when the light was ok and I got some pictures of Mount Inerie, at capital Ngada with altitude of 2.245 meters, had ever erupted in 1882 and 1970 (Wikipedia), you can view on the picture below, There is a myth about a big stone located in the south of the mount. The big stone is believed as a materialization of Jaramasi and his horse. Jaramasi, jara means horse and masi is a name of a man, is assumed as the guardian knight of Mount Inerie, I heard this from my cousin
